Hello!  Welcome to the course webpage for Grade 10 Academic Math (MPM2D).  I encourage you to take advantage of this excellent resource, as I will post class notes, assigned homework, marks, important dates and other information pertaining to the course.

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

  • Please get your Course Information Sheet signed and returned by Friday, September 6th.
  • Please get your Student and Parent Information Sheet signed and returned by Friday, September 6th.
  • Don't forget to register for "Remind" text messages.
  • Test #1 is on Friday, September 12th.  If students want to begin the review early, it is posted below.  We will be working on these reviews in class on Thursdsay, September 11th. 
  • Students will be receiving their textbooks in class on Monday, September 15th.
  • Unit 1 Quiz 1 is on Monday, September 22nd and will cover sections 1.1 to 1.3. 
  • Unit 1 Quiz 2 is on Wednesday, September 24th and will cover section 1.4.
  • Unit 1 Quiz 3 is on Monday, September 29th and will cover section 1.6.
  • Unit 1 Test is on Thursday, October 2nd and will cover sections 1.1 to 1.7, excluding 1.5.  I will post a review online by Saturday, September 27th for students who would like to start the review early. 
  • Students who would like to begin reviewing for the test can complete questions on Page 62 #2-9, 12-18.
  • An additional test review is posted below.  We will work on this review Tuesday and Wednesday in class. 
  • The Birthday Assignment will be assigned on Tuesday, September 30th in class and is due on Friday, October 3rd.  Instructions will be distributed in class.  
  • Students must download the note entitled "Chapter 2 Getting Started" and complete Page 68 #1-8 for Monday, October 6th so we can move on with unit 2.  
  • Unit 2 Quiz 1 is on Thursday, October 9th and will cover sections 2.1 and 2.2. 
  • Unit 2 Test is on Friday, October 17th and will cover sections 2.1 to 2.7, excluding 2.5 and 2.6.  Review questions from the textbook as well as a review handout has been posted for students who would like to start studying early.  We will review all period Wednesday and Thursday in class. 
  • Unit 3 Quiz 1 is on Thursday, October 23 and will cover sections 3.1 and 3.2.
  • Unit 3 Test is on Thursday, October 30th and will cover sections 3.1 to 3.4.  A review is posted below for students who would like to start studying early.  We will review all period Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in class. 
  • Unit 4 Quiz 1 is on Friday, November 7th and will cover sections 4.1 and 4.3. 
  • Extra help will no longer be available after school.  Students are encouraged to obtain extra help on Tuesdays and Thursdays during junior lunch.  Please see Mrs. Kerr if that time does not work for you.
  • Unit 4 Quiz 2 is on Thursday, November 13th and will cover factoring.
  • Unit 4 Test is on Monday, November 17th and will cover sections 4.1 and 4.3 through 4.6.
  • Unit 5 Quiz 1 is on Tuesday, November 25th and will cover sections 5.1 to 5.3. 
  • Unit 5 Quiz 2 is on Monday, December 1st and will include a word problem from this unit.
  • Unit 5 Test is on Thursday, December 4th and will cover sections 5.1 to 5.6.  Students can begin working on review questions from the textbook to get a head start on studying.
  • The test review for unit 5 is posted below.
  • Unit 6 Quiz 1 is on Wednesday, December 10th and will cover sections 6.1 and 6.3.
  • Unit 6 Test is on Wednesday, December 17th.
  • Exam review material will be posted online during the holidays for students who would like to begin reviewing for the final exam.  All students are encouraged to review over the holidays, as the final exam is comprehensive and covers all seven units of the course. 
  • Six review booklets for each of our first six units are posted below.  Students are strongly encouraged to complete practice questions during the second week of the holiday break to begin preparing for the final exam.
  • Chapter 7 Quiz is on Tuesday, January 13th and will cover sections 7.1 to 7.6 excluding section 7.3.
  • Two practice exams, a review question booklet and 6 test reviews are posted below.  Students should use all of these materials to review for the final exam.  Students will receive three periods to work on the review materials in class (Jan. 20, Jan. 21 and Jan. 22).   

MARKS 
Students will receive a code name in class during the second week of school so that marks may be posted anonymously.

 CLASS NOTES
The notes posted online are very similar to the notes completed in class, however, there may be some small differences (more or less examples, simplified diagrams, etc.).  For this reason, students should always take notes in class and consult with peers and/or the teacher when they are absent. 
Unit notes will be removed from the website on the day of the test.

Student Copies
Student copies are for students to print at home and bring to class so that they can copy examples.   

Teacher Copies 
Teacher copies are for students to reference when they have been absent and need the entire note with completed examples.
